Oh hey, my chronic insomnia decided to act up this week. That’s cool. I thought writing would be a good use of my newfound free time, the perfect time to dump out some of the thoughts that keep circling around that annoying brain of mine.
I missed a post last week because I’m working on multiple drafts and nothing feels *right* yet. I’m very close to feeling ready to go on the first post of a multi-part series where I look at:
How the American right co-opted the phrase ‘personal responsibility;’
How the American left subsequently demonized the phrase.
I theorize how the demonization of this phrase contributes to the rise of weaponized therapy talk and many chronically online, self-proclaimed leftists using this phrase to avoid accountability for their actions; and
That there is a level of personal responsibility for our behaviors and actions that is needed to live in the communal and collectivist societies many purport to want (at least, again, in online spaces).
